Timely extinguishing of midnight fire at barbecue restaurant

At around 00:10 on October 14, 2025, while on patrol, Phu My Hung security team noticed thick smoke coming from the exhaust vent of a barbecue restaurant on Ton Dat Tien Street, Tan Hung Ward, Ho Chi Minh City. The security team immediately dispatched additional support forces to the scene.

Upon arrival, four restaurant staff members were using fire extinguishers to control flames originating from the grill. Phu My Hung security promptly cut off the power supply, opened ventilation doors, and provided additional CO₂ extinguishers from their patrol vehicle to help contain the fire. However, as the flames were burning inside the grill and smoke continued to billow out, the wall-mounted fire suppression system was activated, fully extinguishing the fire by approximately 00:35 the same day.

The fire damaged a large grill (about 3 meters in diameter). In total, more than 10 fire extinguishers of various types were used to handle the situation. The cause was determined to be an undersized power cord used for the grill, which was inadequate for high-temperature operation, leading to overload and ignition.

Following the incident, Phu My Hung security reminded food and beverage establishments in the city center to regularly inspect electrical systems, power cords, circuit breakers, and cooking equipment to ensure safety and prevent fire hazards.
