“Ancient Olive Tree” over 300 years old at Phu My Hung Flower Street

At Phu My Hung Flower Street 2026, alongside dazzling blossoms and creative mini-scenes, a small display area featuring 13 “rare” trees has captured significant visitor attention. Among them are five massive ancient trunks with rough, knotty bark and delicate silver-green leaves, sparking curiosity among guests. These are centuries-old olive trees imported from Spain.

Originating from the sun-drenched Mediterranean region, the olive tree is widely regarded as a symbol of resilience. Thriving in dry climates, it can live for hundreds, even thousands of years. With elegant foliage and rugged, time-worn trunks, olive trees are not only fruit-bearing plants but also global cultural icons representing peace, prosperity, wisdom, and enduring vitality.

Olive Garden Vietnam collaborated to bring 13 rare olive trunks for exhibition at the festival. Of these, five ancient specimens currently on display are estimated to be between 70 and more than 300 years old.

Amid the Flower Street’s traditional Vietnamese setting, the presence of these European olive trees creates a striking cultural exchange, perfectly aligned with the festival’s theme, “Spring of Unity”. The display runs from February 11 to February 20, 2026 (the 24th day of the lunar month to the 4th day of Tet). Visitors are encouraged not to miss this opportunity to admire these rare living treasures in person.
