With the goal of cultivating generations of global citizens, the Development Program of Lawrence S. Ting School is designed to focus on developing students in terms of cognition, knowledge, and essential soft skills through diverse learning activities. In that spirit, Student Clubs were established, becoming an educational activity within the school\u2019s Development Program.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

STUDENT CLUBS \u2013 THE LAUNCHPAD FROM PLAYGROUNDS<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through the process of formation and development, Lawrence S. Ting School now has 36 clubs at the Secondary School Campus and 40 clubs at the High School Campus. The student clubs at Lawrence S. Ting School are divided into four main groups, including: Academic (fostering in-depth knowledge), Skills and Arts (fostering general skills and talents), Sports (enhancing physical strength and forming exercise habits), Sharing and Service (spreading the spirit of sharing and community service). The activities of Lawrence S. Ting School student clubs are organized every Thursday, from 15:00 to 16:20, for students from grade 6 to grade 11.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 The unique point in the student club management model at Lawrence S. Ting School is the strict stratification with three types of organization: Type 1 established by the school according to specific orientations, such as Glee (Music Club), MUN (English Debate and Oratory), Media, Events, Ambassadors…; Type 2 opened based on the actual needs of students under the guidance of teachers, such as Badminton, Volleyball, Photography, Guitar…; Type 3 proposed, established, and operated by the students themselves under the mentorship of teachers, such as Dance the Aces, Khoi hoa\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The school\u2019s orientation in the coming time is to gradually shift the operation model of student clubs, from a teacher-taught model to student self-management. In this autonomous model, the student Management Board must plan, prepare content, urge members, and organize recruitment themselves. At the same time, the clubs must undergo a strict evaluation at the end of each semester, maintain an enrollment of 16 to 32 members, and achieve an evaluation score of over 70% through Club Exhibitions to be allowed to continue operating the following year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It can be said that the club model has brought many positive and long-lasting values to Lawrence S. Ting School students. It is not only a playground for them to express and pursue their passion and talent, but also helps them cultivate and hone soft skills through club operation, teamwork, problem-solving, and more. In other words, student club activities are an indispensable part of the school\u2019s comprehensive educational orientation: equipping students with knowledge, training physical fitness, fostering skills, and cultivating virtues \u2013 indispensable elements for a generation of global citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

POSITIVE RESULTS FROM THE STUDENT CLUB MODEL<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The presence of student clubs is an indispensable part of the comprehensive educational picture of Lawrence S. Ting School. Many clubs have operated actively and effectively, achieving many notable accomplishments. Prominent examples include the Ambassador, Media, and Drama Lab clubs, which have become effective suportting arms, directly accompanying and supporting the organization of numerous school events, both large and small.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, the knowledge and skills that students learn and cultivate from the clubs have laid a solid foundation, helping them confidently participate in domestic and international competitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Typical examples include the proud achievements of the VEX Robotics Club: Five VEX Robotics teams from Lawrence S. Ting School excellently asserted their capabilities at the finals of the 2026 Vietnam National VEX Robotics Championship held on January 10 and 11, 2026, in which 3 teams won the right to attend the 2026 VEX World Championship in the United States. At the 2026 VEX World Championship taking place from April 21 to April 30, one of three competing teams from Lawrence S. Ting School won the Design Award in the Math division – a prestigious award recognizing comprehensive excellence in engineering design, problem-solving thinking, and the engineering process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Media Team achieved 1 Second Prize and 1 Third Prize at the 2026 City-level Tuoi Xanh Photography Contest; was selected to represent Vietnamese young photographers at the 10th International Youth Photography Festival 2025 organized in Japan in August 2025 and won the Special Award (online voting award for the Excellent Photo Series) and the Excellent Individual Photo Award (voted directly at the competition by teachers and teams). The Glee Club won the Gold Award in Division B2 (semi-professional – students) at the 2026 expanded school and university bands and music groups festival \u201cVan Hien Melody No.2\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Art Clubs also actively contribute to promoting art spaces and activities, such as: Choir Club: performing at school events and community events, such as the Lawrence S. Ting Charity Walk, Lawrence S. Ting Scholarship Award Ceremony… Art Gallery Club: organizing the exhibition \u201cLSTS Milestones\u201d – an installation art space created by the students themselves. Khoi Hoa Club: performing at the opening ceremonies of Fine Art exhibitions. The academic clubs provide spaces for students to experience interesting aspects of academic knowledge, such as: Molecular Biology Club, Physics Hub Club, Debate Club…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It can be seen that the student club activities of Lawrence S. Ting School have surpassed the meaning of extracurricular sessions, becoming a beneficial training environment for students to be autonomous in their journey of self-discovery and self-development. Leaving school, what they take with them is the confidence and mindset of global citizens, ready to conquer any challenge in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
